Shiatsu Massage
Shiatsu massage, a form of therapy rooted in traditional Japanese medicine, emphasizes the restoration of energy balance within the body. It involves the use of finger and palm pressure on specific points across the body, mirroring the principles of acupuncture without the use of needles. Shiatsu practitioners apply varying degrees of pressure and techniques such as tapping, squeezing, and rubbing to stimulate the body’s vital energy (known as “qi” or “chi”) pathways, or meridians.
This practice is designed to enhance the flow of energy, relieve stress, and promote healing. Shiatsu massage is often sought for its ability to alleviate a wide range of conditions, including headaches, chronic pain, fatigue, and stress-related symptoms. It is performed with the client fully clothed, lying on a mat on the floor, making it distinct from many other types of massage that use oils and direct skin contact.
Shiatsu’s holistic approach views the body and mind as interconnected, aiming to treat the individual as a whole. Clients often report feeling deeply relaxed and energized following a session, with improvements in both physical and emotional well-being. Shiatsu massage provides a unique therapeutic experience, offering a natural pathway to health and harmony.
